<p><br>The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial accounting and reporting activities in compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax laws. The role involves preparing accurate financial statements, managing ledger reconciliations, assisting with audits, and supporting budgeting and financial analysis for our retail business operations. The candidate will report to the Finance Manager or Controller and play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate financial information.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Perform account reconciliations including balance sheet accounts, receivables, payables, and inventory accounts.</li><li>Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.</li><li>Assist with internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.</li><li>Handle tax compliance including preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS, and related financial tax documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with operations teams to analyze financial results, variance analysis, and cost control measures.</li><li>Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and statutory financial regulations.</li><li>Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure seamless workflow.</li><li>Manage fixed asset accounting and inventory valuation specific to retail industry requirements.</li><li>Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to financial processes</li></ul>
